Privacy policy
How we collect, use and protect the personal data you send us through this website.
1. Who we are
This website is operated by Ethos Yachting G.P., Agiou Dimitriou 41, Piraeus 18546, Greece, GEMI number 181098003000 ("Ethos Yachting", "we", "us"). We are the data controller for the personal data described below. For any privacy matter you can contact us at [email protected].
2. What we collect
We only collect what you choose to send us through this website:
- Enquiry and charter request forms: your name, email address and, where you provide them, telephone number, country, preferred dates, number of guests, yacht, destination and the content of your message.
- Newsletter sign-up: your name and email address.
- Technical data: aggregate, anonymous visit statistics (pages viewed, country, referring site). These are cookieless and cannot identify you.
We do not collect payment details on this website, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
3. Why we use it, and on what legal basis
- To answer your enquiry and prepare a charter or management proposal, on the basis of steps taken at your request prior to entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
- To send you occasional news and offers, only if you signed up for them, on the basis of your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw consent at any time.
- To keep the website secure and understand how it is used, on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating and improving it (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
4. Who receives it
We do not sell or rent your personal data. It is shared only with service providers who help us operate this website and reply to you, and only for that purpose: our website hosting provider, our email delivery provider, and our website agency, which maintains the site under contract. Some of these providers may process data outside the European Economic Area, in which case appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses apply.
5. How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept for as long as needed to answer you and to manage the relationship that follows, and in any case no longer than five years from our last contact, unless a longer period is required by law (for example tax or accounting obligations). Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe.
6. Cookies and local storage
This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies, and does not profile you. It stores two small preferences in your own browser so the site behaves politely on your next visit: whether the newsletter invitation has already been shown, and whether you switched the ambient sound off. Clearing your browser data removes them. Our visit statistics are collected without cookies and without identifying individual visitors.
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access your personal data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw any consent you have given. To exercise any of these rights, write to [email protected]. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (dpa.gr), Kifissias 1-3, 115 23 Athens.
8. Security
This website is served over an encrypted connection and form submissions are transmitted securely. We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, though no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.
9. Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
